Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan's famous house in the Bandra neighbourhood of Mumbai, is more than 27,000 square feet in size. The two Pali Hill apartments he has rented are 10,500 square feet in size.
Shah Rukh Khan's spacious Mannat mansion in Bandra
is almost twice as large as his temporary residence in Pali Hill, Mumbai.
According to property registration records obtained by Zapkey.com, he will live
in the two 10,500 square foot duplex flats he has leased while his 27,000
square foot home is being repaired and renovated.
According to the paperwork that Zapkey.com was able
to get, one of the apartments has a carpeted area of 6,000 square feet, while
the other is stretched across 4,500 square feet. Both duplex apartments can be
found in Khar's Pali Hill neighbourhood in the Puja Casa building.
The first duplex costs ₹11.54 lakh per month with a
security deposit of ₹32.97 lakh, while the second duplex costs ₹12.61 lakh per
month with a security deposit of ₹36 lakh, according to property registration
documents.
For ₹13.01 crore, SRK acquired Mannat, which is
situated in Bandra's affluent Bandstand neighbourhood, in 2001. The property is
worth about ₹200 crore, according to a report by HT.com.
About SRK's rented duplex residences in Pali Hill
According to HT.com on February 26, Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan, and
their three children—Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam—will move into their new
temporary home.
Shah Rukh Khan has leased two duplex apartments
from the Bhagnani family, per property registration paperwork. Film producer
Vashu Bhagnani has leased the second duplex, while actor Jackky Bhagnani and
his sister Deepshikha Deshmukh have leased the first.
The lease for the two duplex units will start on
April 1, 2025, and it will last for 36 months. According to the paperwork, the
lock-in period is one year.
The new temporary residence is only 3 kilometres
from Mannat and can be reached by car in 10 to 20 minutes.
The parties did not go to the registration office to complete the procedures of the agreement.
To complete the procedures of the agreement, the
parties did not go to the registration office. None of the parties, including
Shah Rukh Khan, visited the office, per a letter of request that was included
to the registered documents for the two duplexes. Citing security concerns,
they instead wrote to the registrar to request a home visit for paperwork
purposes. On February 14, 2025, the deal was formally registered.
The bungalow where Dilip Kumar used to reside is
visible from SRK's rented duplex apartments in Pali Hill. Shah Rukh Khan's new
temporary residence in the Puja Casa building, where he has rented two duplex
apartments, is encircled by a number of bungalows and small housing societies
that are inhabited by numerous wealthy, high-net-worth individuals.
Directly opposite from the recently rented
apartments of SRK is the bungalow of Bollywood great Dilip Kumar, which is
presently undergoing renovations. Actor Sanjay Dutt's home and the famous
Kapoor family bungalow are also close by.
It's unknown if SRK's temporary residence will
include a balcony, even though the majority of the units in the Puja Casa
building have.
Local brokers claim that while the price per square
foot for buying an apartment in a new building can exceed 1 lakh, the rent for
a two-bedroom flat in Pali Hill can easily reach 2 lakh per month.
The history of Mannat
Previously, Mannat was called 'Villa Vienna'. In
2001, SRK purchased "Villa Vienna" from the "Bai Khorshed Bhanu
Sanjana Trust," and in 2005, it changed its name to "Mannat."
According to accounts, Khan changed the name of the
property from Jannat, which means heaven, when he initially got it to Mannat,
which means prayer, after it proved fortunate for him.
An article on HT.com claims that Mannat's history began in 1914, when Nariman A. Dubash was the building's original owner.
Since December 2024, the Bollywood actor's Mannat bungalow has been in the news because, according to a report in the Hindustan Times, Shah Rukh Khan's wife, Gauri Khan, applied to the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) on November 9 to add two more floors to the annexe, increasing the total built-up area by 616.02 square meters.
