New and renewing real estate agents must obtain certification under MahaRERA

Effective January 1, 2024, agent certification and training will be required for registration or renewal under the terms of the MahaRERA directive, which was issued earlier this year on January 10.

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has ordered that certificates be obtained for new agent registrations or renewals as of January 1, 2024. By January 1st, current agents and developers' employees must obtain this certification and post it on their website. According to a statement released by MahaRERA officials on Thursday, non-compliance will result in required action.

As per MahaRERA's directive, only certified agents will be posted on project websites going forward. Currently, around 8,000 agents have passed the three exams that MahaRERA has held thus far.

Effective January 1, 2024, agent certification and training will be required for registration or renewal under the terms of the MahaRERA directive, which was issued earlier this year on January 10. To provide consumers with accurate project information?such as developer details, project rights, area specs, and approvals?that is essential in supporting purchasers' decisions, the program seeks to guarantee that brokers are knowledgeable about the terms of the RERA Act.

In the real estate industry, agents play a critical role as intermediaries between developers and property buyers. They frequently serve as clients' initial point of contact. They provide clients with the main project details.
