The concessionaire for the project, Bayview Bhutani Film City Private Limited, managed by filmmaker Boney Kapoor, is able to start ground-breaking construction.
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor's Bayview Bhutani Film City
Priv has been granted approval by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development
Authority (Yeida) on Thursday, announcing that it has accepted the layout plan
for the proposed Film City in Sector 21.
On December 24, 2024, Bayview Bhutani filed the
layout plan for the necessary approval, as development cannot begin on the site
without it.
Following a thorough examination by a high-level
committee and the planning department, Yeida officials announced that they had
approved the layout proposal.
The concessionaire has been instructed by the
authority to follow a number of conditions, such as securing permits for
specific parking, landscaping, and horticultural work and implementing the
project in stages.
According to officials, the developer will also
need to establish a film institute and earn the GRIHA 4-Star/IGBC Gold
accreditation, which is essential for green buildings and ensures that there is
no ecological harm and that the carbon footprint created during construction is
kept to a minimum.
The layout plan has been approved, opening the door for building to start on the site. The concessionaire will now choose the start date of the site's construction. However, the concessionaire must complete the construction project in accordance with the terms and conditions specified," Yeida CEO Arun Vir Singh stated.
The Film City project is expected to cost ₹1,510
crore over eight years and be constructed on 1,000 acres, with the first phase
spanning 230 acres.
It is anticipated that the developer will soon lay the project's foundation stone and start building in February 2025.
The foundation laying ceremony date will probably
be set soon. The chief executive officer of the Bhutani Group, Ashish Bhutani,
stated, "We are attempting to select a date that works for the mega event
when both our team and government representatives will be available."
According to sources, Yogi Adityanath, the chief
minister, has an ambitious plan for the Film City and might attend the
foundation ceremony.
According to officials, the Film City foundation
laying event is probably going to take place after February 26 because the
state government is preoccupied with the Maha Kumbh event, which ends on that
day.
Offering these resources under one roof, according
to Kapoor, will lower production costs by giving filmmakers central access to
necessary tools and services, officials said.
The Film City will provide air-conditioned indoor shooting areas to combat severe weather during production. Large sets and a variety of backgrounds will be able to be accommodated by the newly constructed studio floors, which will be between 40,000 and 60,000 square feet.
