What are the special items for Janmashtami?
Janmashtami celebrates a wide range of foods,
including sweets, savoury dishes, and fruits.
Malpua, a fried pancake
made of flour, milk, and ghee, is eaten with sugar syrup. Other delicacies
include badam phirni, a milk pudding made from rice paste, sugar, almonds and
pistachios. You can also have sweets made with khoya, paneer, milk, and almond.
Savoury dishes include
meva ke ladoo, murukku, chakli, and Makhana Paag, which is made with foxnuts,
coconut, milk, and sugar.
Fruits: During the
Janmashtami fast, you are allowed to eat as many fruits as you desire, whether
they are sweet, sour, raw, or ripe. Fresh or dried fruits can keep you
energetic and strengthen your immune system.
